Meet The President
We’ve Got You Covered
Edward J. Foley CPCU, ARM, RPLU
With almost 25 years of diversified experience in the insurance industry, Ed has acquired the perspective and resources necessary to deliver insurance and supportive risk management services that clients can trust. Ed started in the insurance industry in 1986 as a claim examiner, where his responsibilities grew to include handling complex liability litigation files for American International Group (AIG).
Wanting to be more intricately involved in the business of commercial insurance, Ed left AIG and started his career as an agent/broker for Wausau Insurance Companies, where he spent almost 20 years as a sales and service leader.
During his tenure with Wausau, Ed developed diversified expertise as an insurance professional across a broad cross–section of industry and commerce, actively working the risk management process for his clients while always seeking to minimize their total cost.
Immediately prior to starting The Foley Insurance Group, Ed spent 15 months as a Vice President of Sales for Arthur J. Gallagher, Risk Management Services, where he garnered valuable perspective on how a large insurance brokerage operates.
While very much a generalist, over the years, Ed has developed particular expertise in delivering property and casualty insurance and associated risk management solutions to the temporary staffing industry. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Staffing Associations Workers Compensation Risk Certification Advisory Council.
A graduate of Western Connecticut State University, Ed earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1999, and subsequently earned the ARM (Associates in Risk Management) designation in 2005 and the Registered Professional Liability Underwriting (RPLU) designation in 2010.
He is currently an active member of the American Staffing Association, the Independent Insurance Agents of America and a variety of other business and trade groups.
Ed resides in Middletown, CT with his wife and three children. He is an avid golfer in his “spare” time.
